Before we read this verse, it’s important to understand that Psalm 139 is a deeply personal psalm written by David. It reveals how well God knows us and how close He truly is.
In verse 7, David isn’t asking a question because he’s unsure—he’s making a powerful statement: there is nowhere we can go where God’s presence is not already there.
This sets the tone for us to realize:
God is not distant… He is closer than we think—even closer than our next thought.
